About Me

without comments

I’ve always had a passing interest in photography, but I only really started snapping regularly a few years ago when I got my first digital SLR, a Canon 350D. After being used to automatic point-and-shoot cameras, I was excited by the amount of control I could have over the images I was making.

My interest turned obsessive after I began taking photos at live music shows. I found a real thrill that was connected closely with the enjoyment of the music itself, combined with the feeling of being able to capture something unique that was playing out on stage. It’s been a consistent thing with each show I take photographs at – I always need to feel some sort of emotional connection to the music in order to invest myself properly in shooting it.

I’ve recently been trying to expand my knowledge of photography, and attempt different things such as events, food photography, band promos, portraits etc. There’s so much more to learn.

I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to indulge my love of live music and photography in the last couple of years by shooting for BRAG (a local Sydney street press) and for www.thevine.com.au. I’ve also had photographs published in Time Out Sydney, Inside Out and Australian Penthouse.

You can get in touch with me via email, and also find me on flickr, twitter, tumblr and last.fm.
