I spent the better part of the three songs we were allowed to shoot trying to get a jump shot.
Sparkadia. I’m not sure how, but somehow I’ve completely missed seeing them live before now. They were very good.

Death Cab For Cutie, performing at the Enmore Theatre, Sydney. 18.08.08.
I’m a huge fan of DCFC, so getting the chance to shoot them on my birthday was pretty special – thank you, BRAG.
Despite the focus on the new album Narrow Stairs, the set was a fairly well-rounded snapshot of their back catalogue. I’m definitely more a fan of their earlier work on Transatlanticism and The Photo Album than the new stuff, so to have those records covered in the first three songs was great, but also kinda frustrating because I was torn between making the most of the very short time allowed for shooting, and sitting back to enjoy the tunes.

PNAU
PNAU hadn’t really been on my radar for ages and I hadn’t heard the new album – but this show completely blew me away. Not only were the tunes great, but the show itself with crazy dancers in enormous suits, huge numbers of balloons bouncing all over the place and a very happy, enthusiastic crowd made it a great experience. Also, uncharacteristically, I was allowed to shoot the entire show which is something I’ve never had the luxury of doing at the Enmore Theatre.
